AccountView: User Does Not Have Rights to an Object During Basecone Synchronization

Written by Debora Heg-Jobsen

Problem Description

During synchronization between Basecone and AccountView, the following error message may occur:

"User does not have rights to object Administration Settings: Creating object <name/code> failed."

This error indicates that the linked user does not have sufficient permissions to access or create certain administration settings within AccountView.

Cause

This error occurs when the user account used for the integration does not have the required access rights in AccountView.

This is typically one of the following users:

  • The general Basecone integration user.

  • The linked AccountView user in the accountview.net environment.

The user must have access to Administration Settings. Without these permissions, Basecone cannot create or synchronize certain objects.

Check the User's Permissions

Verify whether the affected user has access to Administration Settings.

Step 1: Open the User

  • Navigate to Document > System Master Data > Users.

  • Select the relevant user.

Step 2: Check Access Rights

  • Navigate to Document > Access Analysis.

  • Verify the permissions under:

    • Administration Objects

      • General

        • Administration Settings

  • Confirm that the user has sufficient rights to Administration Settings.

Modify Permissions Through Security Roles

If the required permissions are missing, they must be granted by an administrator through the security role configuration.

Step 1: Open Security Roles

  • Navigate to Document > System Master Data > Security Roles.

  • Click OK.

Step 2: Edit the Role

  • Select the role assigned to the affected user.

  • Choose Edit > Master Data.

Step 3: Open the Access Rights Tab

  • Open the Access Rights tab.

Step 4: Grant Access to Administration Settings

  • Navigate to:

    • Administration Objects

      • General

        • Administration Settings

  • Grant the required permissions to the selected role.

Expected Resolution

After the correct permissions have been assigned:

  • The synchronization error in Basecone should no longer occur.

  • Administration objects can be created successfully.

  • Synchronization between Basecone and AccountView should complete successfully.

Additional Support

If you are unsure which permissions should be assigned, contact Visma or your Visma AccountView partner/dealer for assistance. They can help verify and configure the required access rights within AccountView.

When contacting support, provide the following information:

  • The administration name.

  • The exact error message.

  • The name of the linked user.

  • A screenshot of the error message, if available.

  • The versions of AccountView and Basecone being used.

Providing this information will help support teams diagnose and resolve the issue more efficiently.

Summary

The error message "User does not have rights to object Administration Settings" is caused by insufficient permissions within AccountView. Check the permissions of the linked user and, if necessary, grant access to Administration Settings through the appropriate Security Role. Once the required permissions have been assigned, Basecone synchronization should work normally again.

Important

Only an administrator or the person responsible for configuring security roles in AccountView can modify user permissions. If necessary, Visma or your Visma dealer can assist with this configuration.
