Problem
The "Forbidden" error message during synchronization between Basecone and AccountView usually indicates that the linked administration is no longer accessible or that there is an authorization issue with the synchronization user.
To resolve this error, follow the checks and actions below.
Action 1: Check Whether the Company Code Has Changed
When to Perform This Check
Perform this check if you have the Super User role in Basecone.
Steps
In Basecone, navigate to:
Settings > Administrations > Add Administration(s)
Select AccountView as the accounting system.
Review the list of available administrations.
Result 1: The Administration Appears in the List
If the administration for which you receive the error is listed, the company code in AccountView has likely changed.
Important
Do not add the administration again.
Instead, update the existing administration so that it is linked to the new company code.
How to Update the Link
Go to:
Settings > Administrations
Locate the administration and click Actions > Edit.
Open the Link tab.
Link the administration to the correct company code.
Additional Information
For more detailed instructions, refer to the article about changing a company code and follow the section "Change Company Code".
Not a Super User?
Contact a colleague who has the Super User role and ask them to perform the above checks.
Result 2: The Administration Cannot Be Found
If the administration is not available in the list or the issue persists, continue with Action 2.
Action 2: Verify AccountView.net Service Permissions
Background
Basecone communicates with AccountView through an AccountView.net service. This service is often installed and configured by a Visma partner or dealer.
The "Forbidden" error is commonly caused by insufficient permissions assigned to the synchronization user.
Perform both of the checks below.
Check 1: Verify That the Synchronization User Has Access to the Administration
Step 1: Identify the Synchronization User in Basecone
Go to:
Settings > Office
Open the Accounting System tab.
Click the action icon next to the relevant AccountView connection.
In the next screen, click the underlined username displayed next to User Settings.
Note the username shown on the General tab.
Step 2: Verify Permissions in AccountView.net
Log in to AccountView.net.
Navigate to:
Companies
Open the relevant administration.
Verify whether the synchronization user identified in Basecone has access to this administration.
If the User Does Not Have Access
Click Manage Users.
Search for the user.
Add the user to the company or administration.
Check 2: Verify That the AccountView User Has Access to the Administration
Steps
Log in to AccountView.net.
Open the General tab.
Click Edit.
Review the value shown in the Username field.
This field contains the AccountView user associated with the connection.
Log in to AccountView.
Verify that this user has access to the relevant administration.
If the User Does Not Have Access
Grant the user access to the administration and save the changes.
Restart the Synchronization
After completing both permission checks, restart the synchronization process.
Steps
In Basecone, open Synchronization (the icon with the two opposite arrows).
Select the affected administration.
Click Start Synchronization.
Expected Result
The synchronization process starts again.
If all permissions are configured correctly, the "Forbidden" error disappears.
The synchronization status changes to Successful.
