Accountview: "BOS Impersonation of This User Not Allowed"

Written by Debora Heg-Jobsen

Issue

During synchronization in Basecone, you may receive the following error message:

"BOS impersonation of this user not allowed: User: xxx"

This error indicates that the user settings in AccountView are configured incorrectly for the specified user.

Cause

The error occurs when the BOS (Backoffice Server) impersonation settings for a user in AccountView are not configured correctly.

For successful synchronization, neither of the following settings should be enabled:

  • Allow Backoffice Server impersonation by this user

  • Do not allow Backoffice Server impersonation by this user

In other words, both checkboxes must remain unchecked.

Resolution

Follow the steps below in AccountView to correct the user settings.

Step 1: Open User Management

Navigate to:

Documents → System Master Data → Users

Step 2: Select the Affected User

  • Locate the user mentioned in the error message.

  • Open the user's settings.

Step 3: Verify the BOS Impersonation Settings

Check the following options:

  • ☐ Allow Backoffice Server impersonation by this user

  • ☐ Do not allow Backoffice Server impersonation by this user

Step 4: Update the Settings

Ensure that:

  • Both options are unchecked.

Step 5: Save and Resynchronize

  • Save the changes.

  • Start the synchronization process in Basecone again.

  • Verify that the error message no longer appears.

Expected Result

After both BOS impersonation options have been disabled, the synchronization between Basecone and AccountView should complete successfully without generating the error:

"BOS impersonation of this user not allowed"
