AccountView Synchronisation Error: "Folder :\ Does Not Exist"

Written by Debora Heg-Jobsen

Summary

The error message "Folder ':' does not exist. Folder :\ACCOUNTVIEW\ADMIN<financial year><code> for administration <name/code/financial year> was not found. Failed: Open Administration" can occur during a synchronisation between Basecone and AccountView when the administration folder in AccountView is configured as a mapped network drive, such as F:\. The AccountView Communication Service cannot use these drive mappings.

When should you use this article?

Use this article when a synchronisation between Basecone and AccountView fails with a message indicating that the administration folder cannot be found or that the administration cannot be opened.

Step-by-step instructions

Check the administration folder

  1. Open AccountView.

  2. Go to File > Administrations.

  3. Select the administration involved.

  4. Choose Edit > Change Administration Folder.

  5. Check which folder path is configured.

Change the administration folder

The AccountView Communication Service supports:

  • Local paths, for example: C:\AccountView\Admin

  • Full network paths (UNC paths), for example: \\ServerName\AccountView\Admin

The service does not support mapped network drives, such as:

  • F:\AccountView\Admin

  • G:\AccountView\Admin

Replace any drive letter path with either a local path or a full UNC path.

Run the synchronisation again

Save the changes and start the synchronisation from Basecone again.

Common issues

The error remains after changing the path

Check that:

  • The configured path exists.

  • The network share is accessible.

  • The AccountView Communication Service has sufficient permissions on the folder.

  • The correct financial year and administration have been selected.

  • The UNC path has been entered correctly.

The network path behind the drive letter is unknown

Contact your system administrator or IT department. They can determine which network location the mapped drive refers to.
